SpunQ - The Open Source database modeler application
spunQ is an application server that allows easy and flexible development and running of diversified web applications. To manage and store content, the system is bound to well know Open Source databases.
Any combination of content
With the configuration interface of spunQ you are able to design for a project necessary data structures with their combination of possible data base relations. Data structures will be saved with an abstraction layer in an organised object relation. This causes the possibility to organise data hierarchic and any combination.
Automatic generated Interfaces
Users of the system have certain authorisation on content structures. Ontology similar mapping combines these authorisations with desired control elements. (wysiwyg-editor, checkbox or simple input lines). Over this layer an interface for the conforming data will be generated. spunQ is able to image all normal functions of an object relation and therefore to provide a generic user-interface.
Import of data-stock
It is possible to import data out of old applications to store it object relational structures. rdf-descriptions, rss feeds and providing of data structures for a semantic web are as well important parts of the entire system.
pear as a database-layer
As a database-layer spunQ uses the extension of pear to php. This abstraction-layer admits compatibility to most aquainted content management systems.
Smarty template-engine
On front-end spunQ works with the template engine Smarty that is also available as an Open Source project. Therewith we reach a transparent gateway as possible between design and programming. This allows fast and efficient working in teams in setting up projects.
php5 compatible
spunQ was developed under php4 in consideration of full compatibilty to php5. The system works with postgresql, mysql, mssql or oracle as data-backend. Next to this basic function of selfgenerated data-structures and generic interfaces spunQ integrates all standard-functions of cm-systems:
- free definable, automatically generated interfaces
- structuring of all content elements
- multi lingualadaptation and integration of grafics
- integration of all possible file-typs
- commenting function
- publishing permissions (staging)
- permissions for groups and users on two levels
- free definable RSS-feeds for all generated content-elements
